WWF Wildcard Rules: Shall it be brought back from the dead?

Post by Charlie » Tue Jan 22, 2002 3:06 am

PLEASE NOTE... THIS GAME HAPPENED A LONG TIME AGO AND THERE ARE NO NEW ENTREES FOR IT... SO DON'T TRY TO ENTER. THIS IS FOR HUMOR ONLY (though the game potentially could be brought back from the dead).

Entrees will begin on Wednesday, but you can read the rules and think about which wrestlers you might take on your team now. But you will also have to wait until Wednesday for the wrestlers that are selectable to be annouced.
==========================
Stablewars.com presents
WWF Wildcard

Introduction
WWF Wildcard is the third game to join the Stablewars.com lineup. Players will choose five WWF Superstars from a lineup of thirty, and any points that those wrestlers earn will go towards your score. But unlike Stable Wars, wins and loses, finishing manuvers, interferences, and pay per view apperances don't mean jack. Match quality, Promo quality, and Crowd Reaction among other things will determine what each wrestler earns.

*THE RULES*
Each player will select five wrestlers out of the thirty wrestlers Stablewars.com has selected to take part in the game. All points those wrestlers on your roster earn will go towards your score. The shows that will be scored are WWF Raw, WWF Smackdown, and United States WWF Pay Per View events.

Friday through Sunday, you may trade any wrestler on your roster, but doing so will cost you 30 points. Once a wrestler has been traded off your roster, that wrestler cannot return to it. There is no limit on how many trades can be made each week. Be warned: Your score can go below zero, and making too many trades might result in you having a negitive score.

*SCORING*
Stablewars.com offical score keepers will score each wrestler in five different catagories. Each catagory can be worth as much as 10 points or worth as little as -10 points. If a wrestler is not active in one paticular catagory, then that catagory will be zero points. For example, if Steve Austin cuts a promo but is not involved in a match, then he can earn as much as 10 points or as little as -10 for the Promo Quality catagory, but his Match Quality score will be a zero. No more, no less.

The Catagories in which wrestlers will be scored in is as follows.

Match Quality: The overall quality of the match that the wrestler was in. Indivual effort is not scored here, and the wrestler's opponent(s) or Tag Partner(s) can help or can worsen the score for this catagory.

Indivual Quality: This will rate the wrestler's performance in the ring, regardless of how good or bad his match was. Opponents and tag partners will not be factored in this catagory.

Promo Quality: This will rate the quality of promos cut by the wrestlers. Promos are not to be confused with backstage skits, which is a totally different catagory. Promos much be conducted in the ring, or backstage while someone is interviewing them.

Backstage Skit Quality: Any other non-wrestling involvement during shows will be factored in here. Segments from WWF New York will be factored in here, along with any pre-tapped segments. If footage of Chris Jericho playing Hockey is shown, then it will be scored in this catagory.

Crowd Reaction: The reaction of the fans to promos, skits, matches, or anything else that relates to WWF Shows will be scored here. This catagory will judge "Pops" that are above normal, crowd "Sing-A-Longs" and various other chants that take place. Please note, being incredibly popularity does not guarentee that a wrestler will score a 10 everytime. For the popular wrestlers, the crowd must go wild. For REALLY popular wrestlers, the place must explode. Additionally, the fans must be willing to chant more then "WHAT" to earn points for each wrestler.

Finally, the ultimate asspect of WWF Wildcard: The Wildcard Scores. These scores, which can total as much as 30 or as little as -30, can include internet rumors and gossip, or anything else that the scorekeeper has on his mind. They are free to penalize Kurt Angle for tripping on his way to the ring, or reward The Undertaker for refusing to put over Haku. If they don't like Jericho's hair, Vince McMahon's suit, or Ric Flair's stomach, they can do something about it.

Sounds great, but a nightmare to score! Who is going to do all of the scoring? I hope you have help. Also, is this the year long game you talked about earlier? One last question... when does it start?

OK, that's all I want to know about that for now

Like Stable Wars, there will be different scorekeepers for each show.

Oh yes, and the game begins this Monday, but entrees open Today (Wednesday). Check out the main page.

Oh, and this is *not* the Super League.

The Super League is for the Stable Wars game.

So... shall we bring back Wildcard?

The new rules will eliminate promo quality. The promos are too heavily scripted now for that. Crowd noise stays.
Kash was here!
