Beat the Clock question
Since the BTC is, for all events and purposes, a show-long tournament of sorts, shouldn't the participants get more points for being in and doing well? Say, Finley gets 5 points for setting the pace, Chavo gets 5 for setting the new pace, and Rey gets 10 for setting the pace and winning the whole thing?
I'm Charlie Owens, good night, and good luck.

Re: Beat the Clock question
Because the person who wins the first match will always set the pace. It's like saying that if there was a tournament, the first person who gets a win should get a bonus for doing so. It just doesn't make any sense.

Re: Beat the Clock question
The bonus points for tournaments is for a bracket style elimination tournament only. Like King of the Ring. Beat the Clocks are just treated as normal matches.

Re: Beat the Clock question
What about Raw Roulette matches? If they spin up FCA or something, shouldn't that get a Gimmick bonus since it's a Raw Roulette FCA match?
I used to post a lot here. Then I took a meme to the cake.
Re: Beat the Clock question
At the risk of sounding like a retard... FCA?

Falls Count Anywhere. A gimmicky match that isn't scored as one according to the rules.

Re: Beat the Clock question
Well the definition of gimmick match that was passed on to me was along the lines of a match where the victory isn't decided by pinfall or submission. In an FCA match you can win by pinfall or submission and is therefore scored as a regular match.

Escaping from a cage, ladder match, modern strap match, etc. Those are gimmick matches.

Even I Quit is a gimmick match because pinfalls don't count.

Re: Beat the Clock question
I could maybe see giving some sort of bonus for winning the whole thing, but almost every guy will beat the previous pace, and then lose it to the next guy. That would be an awful lot of points for being in first place for 10 minutes and then losing it. It's not even close to being as big as winning a tournament. Even giving the overall winner an extra 2 points would be pushing it. It's also not happening since this isn't a new match. Having come up before and never gotten anything extra it's not likely to happen now midseason. The only times that has happened midseason was a completely new match that we HAD to come up with a way to score. Other than that, new rules and bonuses aren't going to be applied midseason.Charlie Owens wrote:Since the BTC is, for all events and purposes, a show-long tournament of sorts, shouldn't the participants get more points for being in and doing well? Now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

Re: Beat the Clock question
To me that's basically saying getting bonus points for #1 contendership matches..
I completely disagree with giving bonuses in either case (Beat the Clock, #1 contender, etc...)
