No Way Out 2008 Play Per ReView

Post by Charlie »

THE WINNERS

Champion
Reverend Doom

Reverend Doom, non-forum member, posted a perfect score and a time one second off the tiebreaker. His score of 180 actually tied 38 other players, among them Copy & Paste King tlk23, MET, SeeDub, Football Mike, lfpnrg, DudeyDan, LiQuid, Sixthdis108, RoMo, Smurf, KoolMoeDee, Westryde, Matt Sin, Picture Perfection, & Pujo.

1 for every 3.38 Players

That's the ratio of players for No Way Out that put up a perfect score, a new Play Per View record that will likely stand for a while.

HIGH FORUM MEMBER
tlk23

tlk23 is the high forum member with a perfect score and a tiebreaker time only ten seconds off the mark. He has earned the second pick in the 2009 Rumble Draft, pending a seven day grace period where Reverend Doom can join the forum and claim the pick for himself. If not, tlk23 will join manderrr as the only player on the forum currently with a pick.

FACTION PLAY PER VIEW CHAMPIONS
Team Discovery Channel: 170.4pts per a player

Sick average. Five players, four of whom were tied for highest score. Only Jimthor cost them a perfect five for five record. I'm sure tar and feathers are in order. The Five Horsemen also put up impressive numbers, with only Ronin achoring them down to any signifcant degree.

1. Team Discovery Channel 170.4
2. Five Horsemen 149.8
3. The Flock 149.3
4. The Outsiders 140.0
5. Western Union 133.6
6. The Mega Powers 131.5
7. Team Canada 128.1
8. The Movement 125.6
9. Right To Censor 95.75

TOP PLAYERS BY FACTION
4. MET (Five Horsemen)
6. SeeDub (Team Discovery Channel)
12. Dudey Dan (Outsiders)
19. RoMo (Team Canada)
37. Picture Perfection (The Flock)
38. Pujo (Right to Censor)
43. cookiemonster (Western Union)
44. Scott Savage (The Movement)
52. Watsuki (Mega Powers)

LETHAL LOTTERY HIGH SCORE
Football Mike & DudeyDan

With 360 points, the unlikely duo of Mike & Dan were the only team to put up a perfecto in this crazy Play Per View where 1 in every 3.38 players had a perfect score.

PPV WARS TOP 25%
1. Football Mike
2. Lfpnrg
3. DudeyDan
4. Jak619
5. Matt Sin
6. pitcher perfection

All six had perfect scores, naturally. lfpnrg was the only player from round one who stayed in the top 25%.

THE LOSERS

LOWEST SCORE
Erick

The unknown forum player joins the Hall of Shame by putting up a 0. Seriously... in this PPV where some matches were *very* easy to call, he managed to miss every single one. Hang your head in shame.

LOW PLAYERS BY FACTION
126. stinger (Team Canada)
124. the BAM (Right to Censor)
122. Angel4Life (The Movement)
110. Hillbilly Nick (Outsiders)
107. Ronin (Five Horsemen)
101. pabscm (Western Union)
89. Fuggly Bastard (Mega Powers)
81. Jimthor (Team Discovery Channel)
73. Manderrr (The Flock)

SURVIVAL VICTIM
TBD

The random draw will decide the fate of Angel4Life. DX did not put up a player, and so it's a one in three shot that jdrudd, who did not play, will be assigned for them. Both DX Lives On and Iamnobody posted higher scores then Karene. Team Canada's random rep is safe regardless.

LETHAL LOTTERY VICTIMS
Ronin and AmazingManderrr

With a combined score of only 220 points, we bid farewell to Manderrr and Ronin. Tied for second-to-last were the teams of LiQuid/LKO and Yankee/Iamnobody, each with 233 points.

I knew there would be other players who would get all of their PPV picks correct, but I didn't think there would be 38. 1 in every 3.38 doesn't make it seem as much of an achievement.

Looks like all of the decent factions had at least 1 player get a perfect score

Good review, Charlie :th:

Just crazy the amount of perfect scores, one for every three players. And the reason is there were NO upsets. The favorite won every single match. That's the skinny of it.

In some ways, it was the best play per view ever, and in some ways it was the biggest disaster since December to Dismember. THANK GOD none of the matches that happened were altered in a way where we would have had to scrap them or it would have been an even bigger train wreck.

39 people tied for first. INSANE!

88points?! I'm sure I called all the matches right except for Cena/Orton...surely that one mistake couldn't have cast me down so far?!

I'd check my picks in the email...but for some reason no email was sent (even though I had the box ticked) :shifty:

Well if you check your picks by clicking on your name in the standings you'll see you got Orton and Punk wrong. With so many people scoring perfect cards getting two wrong turned out to be quite costly. I got one wrong and I'm 52nd.

Thanks 'Suki, just realised that I could check my picks by doing that and realised my mistake.

I could've sworn I took Chavo, must kick myself for that slip :x

Stupid 39 way tie. I swear the first time in awhile, if ever, I post a perfect score and 37 other assclowns do the same. This has got to be a work.

It was pretty simple line of thinking though. Taker and Flair were both pretty obvious. Though Batista had a chance, Taker's streak vs. streak thing is what swayed my vote. Obviously, Flair wasn't retiring yet.

Trip's two week hiatus had me worried he may not win, but I figured they wouldn't put Jeff over and so that only left H with HBK facing Flair @ Mania. I wanted to pick Punk, but I actually knew Cena would win by DQ to setup a triple threat and Charlie mentioned before they don't do too many of those in one night, so the odds of Chavo retaining cleanly were pretty good.

I guess this means I'm due to tank Mania. Here's hoping not.
